About The Position
B Positive Plasma is seeking a dedicated laboratory technician, specifically a Plasma Processing Tech, to join our growing team at our Philadelphia location. This full-time position requires individuals who possess a pleasant demeanor and excellent communication skills, as we prioritize customer service above all else. The role involves working with needles and handling blood products, so candidates must be comfortable in a medical environment. While we take all necessary precautions and safety measures, the nature of the work requires a level of comfort with these responsibilities. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and preferably some experience as a medical assistant or in a laboratory setting. The position requires availability from Monday to Friday, with the expectation of working every other Saturday (3 on and 4 off). We offer paid training during weekdays to ensure that all team members are well-prepared for their roles. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating instruments used for manipulating, monitoring, and storing plasma products. You will maintain the instruments used for processing and storage of donor samples and products, document operational and maintenance activities, and determine supply inventory requirements. Additionally, you will be tasked with quarantining and discarding unacceptable samples and products, packing, labeling, and shipping samples to meet supplier requirements, and maintaining organization within our large, walk-in, sub-zero freezer. The position may also require travel up to 25 miles to assist at other facilities for training or staffing needs, as necessary.
