About The Position

Position Summary: Performs a variety of technician level duties in the test laboratory including but not limited to setting up and running tests, reporting test results, and troubleshooting testing problems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Two Year College Degree or applicable Technical Training and Certification is preferred
• Two to four years of relevant work experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude, as well as technical and analytical problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others in a team environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis and perform tasks while standing for extended periods
• Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary

Responsibilities

• Performs mechanical testing on a variety of product types or components involving running test lab equipment while following written procedures, methods, and/or instructions
• Conducts tests, maintains records of work performed, verifies data, summarizes and reports results
• Works within established laboratory procedures and practices with a moderate degree of supervision
• Assists in ensuring the availability of adequate supplies and equipment
• Must operate in a manner that reinforces, supports, and is consistent with the Cooper Standard Leadership Model
• Ensures 6S, housekeeping and health and safety standards are maintained
• May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description
