The Supervisor - Lab Technical is responsible for maintaining the integrity and smooth daily operation of the assigned Laboratory section. This role involves direct supervision of personnel assigned to that section, ensuring that all laboratory activities are conducted in compliance with established protocols and standards. As a first-line supervisor, the individual will oversee the administrative and technical management of section operations, which includes supervising Medical Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technicians, Processors, and other laboratory personnel. The position requires strong leadership skills, organizational abilities, and the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively. The supervisor must demonstrate accuracy, discretion, good judgment, and independent decision-making in varied work situations. Major decisions made by the supervisor are subject to review and approval by the Manager. The role also involves external contacts with physicians, pathologists, physician office staff, and patients, as well as internal interactions primarily with clinical units and other hospital-based staff.
