About The Position

Position Purpose: To insure inbound material are properly sampled, inspected, tested, coded, labeled for facility processing in compliance with permits and waste analysis plan. Primary Duties /Responsibilities: Responsible for performing routine tasks and analyses on hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste and product samples in accordance with company and regulatory requirements. Sample inbound waste material & site generated materials. Prepare composite samples for Laboratory testing. Code material based on Waste Information Profile (WIP) for facility handing and processing. Record and enter facility processing codes into Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Create sample identification labels. Facilitate communication to resolve paperwork issues for incoming material. Follow plant safety procedures including use and understanding of proper PPE for drum checking and sampling. Assists in compiling and reporting of analysis date including QA/QC data for review. Work Environment: Working outdoors 90% of the time.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent required.
  • Related work experience of 1 to 2 years in the hazardous waste industry is preferred.
  • Strong team player.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Computer literate.
  • Self-motivated.
  • 24 HAZWOPER Training.
  • Chemical Hygiene Training.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science discipline preferred.
