About The Position

Responsible for performing and reporting assigned laboratory tests to provide diagnostic data for the treatment and/or diagnosis of disease. Under the direct supervision of a section supervisor responsible for the assigned shift as scheduled. Incumbents are subject to overtime by the department as designated by the hospital. This position requires performance of phlebotomy and other specimen collection procedures to obtain quality samples for clinical laboratory testing.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science from a NACCLS approved program or equivalent
• MLT (ASCP) or equivalent
• Must obtain TN State License within six months of hire date
• Maintain State of TN licensure by completing continuing education as required by State of not less than 12 CE hours annually
• Knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures normally acquired by 3 months to one year of on-the-job training and orientation
• Skill and proficiency in the technical field of Medical Laboratory Technology as acquired through a two-year Associate of Science Degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician
