About The Position

As a Lab Technician Intern at Zekelman Industries in Farrell, PA, you will play a key role in supporting our Technical Team through hands-on testing, analysis, and data management. This internship is ideal for a student pursuing a technical degree who enjoys problem-solving, working with data, and applying classroom knowledge in a real-world manufacturing environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited college or university, preferably in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science).
• Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and processes.
• Committed to regular, predictable onsite attendance.
• Promotes and adheres to health and safety practices in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Able to pass a hair follicle drug test, physical, and background check.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Performs mechanical testing of pipe and tubing samples to ensure product quality.
• Conducts chemical testing of process tanks to maintain process integrity.
• Analyzes data using Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to identify trends and variances.
• Performs hardness testing and records results accurately.
• Inputs test data into computer systems and maintains organized digital records.
• Scans and organizes order documentation and test backups.
• Supports additional lab and technical projects as assigned.
