About the position
The Laboratory Technician role at Piper Health & Sciences is an entry-level position designed for recent science graduates seeking hands-on experience in a biotechnology research organization. The position focuses on performing various laboratory tests, including ELISA assays and PCR testing, while adhering to quality control standards and standard operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Quality Control (QC) testing to support the organization's products
- Performing ELISA assays, Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing, cell cultures, and other laboratory tests
- Precisely pipetting small sample volumes with a pipetter
- Adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assists in developing and implementing updated SOP guidelines
- Performs various statistical analyses, utilizing programs such as SPSS and SAS
- Updates and maintains records in the data system
- Performs routine laboratory maintenance
Requirements
- 0-2 years of relevant laboratory experience
- Bachelor's of Science Degree (BS) in a related field is preferred. Associate's degree (AAS) is required.
