About The Position

In collaboration with clinical and laboratory staff, the Laboratory Tech Assistant will assist in the delivery of care to patients in the Emergency department. The role includes responsibilities for emergency department phlebotomy specimen processing, Point of Care testing, and all other assigned duties of the emergency or lab department.

Requirements

• Current California CPT-1 Certificate
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum one (1) year continuous phlebotomy experience in a fast-paced environment required
• Ability to work well within a fast-paced, team environment
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and professionally in English
• Ability to follow verbal instructions with minimal supervision
• Strong organizational skills
• Communication skills
• Critical thinking skills
• Problem solving skills
• Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

• 1-2 years previous hospital laboratory experience preferred
• Phlebotomy experience with all ages, including neonates, children, and elderly, preferably in a hospital setting
• Ability to work flexible shifts

Responsibilities
