SIGN ON BONUS AVAILABLE - $2,500 for day shift hire and $3,500 for night shift hire - this will be paid out over a 1-year period IFF is seeking laboratory technicians to join our team in Gibson City, IL. As a Lab Tech in this location, you will work in a unionized, industrial laboratory environment. Ten-hour days per week, as well as weekends and holidays, are required. Requirements

  • 4 Year degree or 2 years lab experience
  • Ability to work safely, including but not limited to use of proper personal protective equipment, such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and steel-toed safety shoes
  • Must be comfortable working with computerized control systems
  • Able to tolerate exposure to hot and cold conditions, according to the season
  • Must be in good physical health
  • Must be able to climb ladders
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to read/write and follow instructions
  • Must be able to communicate thoughts and ideas effectively
  • Ability to determine proper tools and equipment needed to perform a task
  • Additionally, to qualify for this position, you must be proficient in English, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Analytical and Micro testing on process and finished products
  • Observe lab equipment operations and troubleshoot malfunctions
  • Adjust lab operating equipment
  • Maintain lab equipment
  • May be exposed to high noise areas
  • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals
