About The Position

The Lab Tech 2 receives and/or processes specimens, performs clerical checks and support functions. May perform phlebotomy. This position is located at BSWH Keller Family Medicine Department Clinic Lab, with a day shift from 8am to 5pm.

Requirements

• Must have at least 2 years of phlebotomy experience.
• Must be able to stick newborn to geriatric patients.
• H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent.
• Less than 1 Year of Experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts routine laboratory procedures where the range of possible errors is limited.
• Sorts, labels and records patient specimens.
• Sets up specimen, material and equipment in preparation for Medical Technologist to perform tests.
• Operates centrifuge, simplex timers, cell washer and other laboratory equipment in completing assigned duties.
• Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies.
• Maintains effective communication and working relationships with all laboratory personnel, other disciplines, and external customers.
• Participates in laboratory projects and educational activities.
