About The Position

The Support Technician performs various technical and clerical functions, under the supervision of the supervisor or designee. Duties may include: order entry, processing, testing, (including Point of Care patient testing) and reporting of waived and moderately complex kit test results as allowed by organizational and CLIA guidelines. The standard of ethical and professional performance must be consistent with established medical laboratory practice.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Prefer one year experience in a hospital or laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform order entry, processing, testing, and reporting of test results.
• Comply with all OSHA, health and safety requirements.
• Contribute to a positive work environment by functioning as a team member.
• Organize, plan, and perform multiple tasks to accomplish corporate objectives.
• Utilize and maintain equipment and supplies to maximize efficiency and cost control.
• Provide internal and external customer assistance with a positive, service-oriented attitude.
• Participate actively in continuing education to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
• Adhere to collection and processing requirements to prevent the loss or compromise of specimens.
• Perform accurate and complete labeling and follow proper processing techniques.
• Perform technical duties accurately as assigned under supervision.
• Perform clerical functions including reports, pending logs, and patient charts.
• Perform and document non-testing preventative maintenance as trained.
• Assist with training of new associates as assigned.
