The Drive Inverter Test Team is seeking an Entry-Level Engineering Technician to support the development and testing of Tesla's cutting-edge Drive Inverter technology. In this role, you will collaborate with engineers and technicians in our lab environment, gaining valuable hands-on experience while contributing to innovation and efficiency in testing operations. This position requires a team-oriented mindset, strong work ethic, and passion for innovation. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, adapting to shifting priorities, and taking initiative to solve problems. Our team is committed to accelerating innovation and rapidly iterating designs. You will be challenged daily to improve testing throughput, enhance lab efficiency, and ensure smooth engineering lab operations.

  • Learn and apply engineering test standards with a safety-first approach
  • Organize and maintain lab equipment, parts, and tools
  • Support environmental chamber logistics and lab operations
  • Assist technicians with test setup, inspections, and teardown procedures
  • Assemble and disassemble test fixtures and equipment
  • Manage shipping, logistics, and organization of parts using forklifts and other equipment
  • Fabricate and troubleshoot wiring harnesses, including soldering, crimping, and interpreting wiring diagrams
  • Ability to follow engineer/technician instructions to operate test equipment, hand tools, and data acquisition systems
  • Awareness of electrical hazards and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs and work in an industrial environment (90% indoors)
  • Hands-on experience using hand tools for basic shop operations
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay organized, and meet deadlines
  • Basic knowledge of high-voltage DC systems, and associated safety protocols (training is a plus)
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Excel, Web Browsers, Word, Email/Calendars)
