Requirements

• Associate Degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology/Scientist, Medical Lab Technician - State, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Medical Laboratory Technician.
• Minimum one year in a hospital laboratory as a medical technologist or minimum of two years in a hospital laboratory as a medical laboratory technician.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall operation of the section(s) of the laboratory as assigned.
• Perform tests and procedures within the scope of responsibility of the clinical laboratory.
• Use independent judgement to ensure accurate results and proper use of quality control materials.
• Evaluate test results and recognize the interdependency of tests and conditions that affect test results.
• Participate in continuing education, competency, and proficiency testing.
• Maintain all required standards as mandated by applicable accrediting agencies such as CAP, CLIA, DEHEC, JCAHO, etc.
