About The Position

The Lab Supervisor is responsible for providing supervisory and technical support to the Quality Assurance Team and Operations Team. Also, responsible for maximizing productivity of assigned shifts and areas at the highest quality and food safety standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma and 7 years related experience, OR Associate's degree plus 3 years related experience, OR Bachelor's plus 1 year related experience.
  • Knowledge of Applied Food Chemistry, including practical application.
  • Knowledge of SAP
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, Excel
  • Tactical knowledge of production operations management for quality, yield and cost.
  • Technical knowledge of chemistry test methods, procedures and instrumentation.
  • Able to demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • New equipment implementation through vendor facilitation and training.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 year related experience OR Master’s degree in related field
  • Experience with SAP, SharePoint and Ultimus
  • 5 years of progressive QA management responsibility
  • Advanced experience with SAP as it pertains to lab operations
  • Completion of HCC internal technical training programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support Quality Assurance systems in order to satisfy internal and customer requirements to include process evaluation and product protection programs; process specifications and standards; sanitation programs, HACCP and GMP programs; production labeling; and product storage and distribution.
  • Responsible for the throughput and accuracy of chemistry laboratory.
  • Provide supervision and development of FP/IP cheese chemistry and Quality Execution Technicians.
  • Responsible for generation of accurate results and information vital to the release of cheese products and operation processes.
  • Assist in the oversight of calibration and minor maintenance of analytical devices in plants, including FTs, pH Meters, Pipettors.
  • Assist in the organization, development and task of customer visits and audits.
  • Assist with customer and product complaint resolution.
  • Responsible for the management of lab EMP programs.
  • Manage laboratory supplies and inventory, laboratory data entry, instrument calibrations, Laboratory Batch Records and laboratory budget.
  • Responsible to maintain laboratory certifications (third party).
  • Responsible for reviewing all data generated in the laboratory.
  • Ensures training, proficiency and compliance to HCC Corporate laboratory policies and procedures.
