The Lab Supervisor for the Mobile Solution (MS) Liquid Lab will have primary responsibility for management of the laboratory operations, execution of daily activities, and leading laboratory improvements for the Technology Services team. This person will directly supervise a laboratory group. Role Responsibilities: Responsible for organizing and directing the daily activities of the laboratory across multiple shifts. Prioritizes test requests and applies resources. Reviews and interprets technicians work and results ensuring it meets applicable test standards. Regularly communicates with customers and other stakeholders informing, setting expectations, or working collaboratively on joint technical solutions. Provides reports to management on laboratory performance. Ensures current and new practices are reviewed and documented. Implements and follows EHS Framework. Drives laboratory to meet set KPI’s and to make improvements aimed at immediate results. Executes assigned annual initiatives for local labs through their efforts and the efforts of their team. Work with global lab managers to address test bench issues, level setting of backlogs, and standardizing processes/procedures. Executes the DCI performance management process including annual 360 reviews, self-assessment, and a written performance review. Utilizes a competency assessment, as part of the annual review process, to evaluate behaviors and technical competencies providing actionable feedback. Resolves employee relation issues through effective remediation techniques. Provides training to ensure best practices, standard procedures, and customer requirements are being met. Coach and mentor technicians to develop and empower staff.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and 4+ years of professional level laboratory or Bachelor of Science degree and 2 plus years professional level laboratory experience.
  • Experience with laboratory operational practices and testing procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years relevant experience, supervisory experience desired.
  • Expertise in applicable ISO/SAE test standards.
