About The Position

The Laboratory Supervisor position at Texas Health Allen involves overseeing the laboratory department, ensuring quality control, and managing staff and workflow. The role is full-time, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Applied Technology, Clinical Lab Science or Chemical, Physical or Biological Science required
• 5 years under the director of an MT or Pathologist
• 2 years leadership experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Experience with Point of Care is a plus
• MT(ASCP) - Medical Technologist Upon Hire Required or equivalent
• CT(ASCP) - Cytotechnologist Upon Hire Required or equivalent
• HTL(ASCP) - Histotechnologist Upon Hire Required or equivalent
• MLS(ASCP) - Medical Lab Scientist Upon Hire Required or equivalent
• SCT(ASCP) - Specialist in Cytotechnology Upon Hire Required or equivalent
• HT(ASCP) - Histotechnician if supervising Histology within Anatomical Pathology Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

• Oversees work schedules and personnel assignments for the department
• Reviews abnormal results
• Checks outstanding tests list in a timely manner
• Resolves quality control discrepancies before releasing patient results
• Participates in orientation and training of students, volunteers, new employees and observers
• Complies with lab and section/cost center guidelines, procedures, and policies
