About The Position

The Robert M. Berne Cardiovascular Research Center (CVRC) at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking a Laboratory Specialist (Intermediate or Senior) to join the Khetarpal Lab. We study how the heart communicates with other organs to regulate energy balance, uncovering secreted proteins and lipid pathways that may become new therapies for heart failure and cardiometabolic disease. Our team uses mouse models of exercise and heart failure, viral gene delivery, proteomics, lipidomics, mitochondrial physiology, and primary cell culture. This position offers the chance to contribute to impactful discoveries at the intersection of metabolism, exercise biology, and cardiovascular disease.
