About The Position

Brewer Science, Inc. is a major innovator of high-technology solutions for the semiconductor / microelectronics markets. We are currently seeking a purpose-driven candidate with an ownership mentality to fill an open position as a Lab Specialist II. This position will be located in Rolla, MO. Summary: Lab Specialists are skilled technicians that conduct research on various materials. They perform applicable tests, data entry, documentation, and other assigned tasks. They can troubleshoot issues, complete POS forms, and ship samples.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a relevant technical field and 6+ years of related experience or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field and 2+ years of related experience or Master’s degree in a relevant technical field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, troubleshoot, and improve complex processes or products to meet specific customer needs, including generating and implementing process improvement ideas.
  • Operate with extensive knowledge of cleanroom protocols and equipment, creating equipment-specific recipes and maintaining control charts for process monitoring.
  • Master and perform key functional and analytical tests (e.g., chromatography, spectroscopy) on products, raw materials, and intermediates.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all laboratory and metrology equipment, identifying and troubleshooting issues independently with consideration for time sensitivity.
  • Take full responsibility for instrumentation maintenance, including calibration, audits, corrective actions, and compliance with the metrology control plan.
  • Train new personnel in cleanroom procedures, test equipment operation, and protocol compliance.
  • Support data analysis and compilation for various projects and contribute to technical documentation.
  • Participate in drafting publications for conferences and journal articles.
  • Exhibit ownership of customer demos by developing test plans, conducting analysis, and creating documentation and reports.
  • Manage or support customer relationships tied to ongoing projects, acting as a liaison when needed.
  • Drive projects focused on material characterization, process improvements, and customer troubleshooting.
  • Update and optimize testing methods and lab procedures to enhance efficiency and meet customer requirements.
  • Assist in planning lab and metrology schedules by reviewing production timelines.
  • Contribute to lab growth and strategy, including implementation of process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure timely MTNC closure in collaboration with technical teams, including documentation and system updates.
  • Demonstrate advanced troubleshooting skills and stay current on equipment/processes through training and resource utilization.
