The Certified Lab Scientist at Parkview Randallia Hospital is responsible for performing medical laboratory tests with precision and adherence to established policies and quality standards. This role involves maintaining clinical instruments, developing new tests, training laboratory staff, and ensuring the laboratory is always ready for inspections. The Lab Scientist plays a crucial role in the laboratory's operations and provides guidance to colleagues, leveraging extensive knowledge of laboratory techniques and medical sciences.

  • Perform medical laboratory tests accurately following established policies and procedures.
  • Maintain clinical instruments and participate in the development of new tests and instrumentation.
  • Train other laboratory co-workers in laboratory procedures and techniques.
  • Participate in committees and projects to enhance laboratory operations.
  • Ensure the laboratory is continuously ready for inspection and adheres to quality standards.
  • Bachelor of Science degree required.
  • Successful completion of a NAACLS-accredited Clinical Laboratory Science program required.
  • Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist at the time of hire or promotion.
  • 1 year of clinical laboratory experience performing non-waived patient testing, with certification to be obtained within 5 years and 6 months from hire date.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Visual acuity and color discrimination.
  • $10,000 Sign on Bonus

  • Night shifts from 2200 to 0630
  • Weekend work required
