Duke University's Department of Dermatology is looking for a Lab Research Analyst II (on site) to join our team located in Durham, N.C. in Dr. Julia Oh's laboratory. Dr. Oh's lab's goal is to understand the complexity of our body's microbial communities to create microbiome therapeutics for human disease. We are a hybrid computational and experimental group using diverse, cutting-edge technologies to probe the human microbiome and its functions with unprecedented resolution. Our methods include genomics (e.g., spatial transcriptomics, single-cell transcriptomics, metagenomics), bioinformatics (including machine learning and artificial intelligence), synthetic biology, organoid technology, CRISPR, molecular biology, and microbiology. This position prioritizes expertise in tissue culture and molecular biology (particularly CRISPRi). Experience in mouse research and microbiology are secondarily preferred. This position would be able to: These efforts will be distributed across projects including: developing CRISPRi screening platform for investigating staphylococcal gene function and diversity, constructing gene knockouts in human skin organoids, and examining host-microbiome interactions leveraging organoid and mouse platforms.
