About The Position

Element Materials Technology is seeking an experienced Lab Quality Manager to oversee quality performance at the Materials Lab in Indianapolis. This role is crucial for achieving NADCAP accreditation, implementing the Element quality management system (QMS), and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams and accreditation bodies to promote a culture of quality assurance and improvement within the lab.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or engineering discipline.
  • 5 years of experience in materials testing or a related environment.
  • Experience working in a NADCAP environment is required.
  • ISO/IEC 17025 experience preferred.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in quality investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Ability to identify quality and technical problems and collaborate on solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Aerospace industry and Nadcap for NDT inspection and materials testing.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve NADCAP accreditation for a captive materials lab.
  • Implement and maintain the Element QMS, ensuring necessary controls are in place for inspection and testing.
  • Conduct method audits, system audits, and proficiency testing as per established schedules.
  • Manage the day-to-day implementation of the QMS and support colleagues in its application.
  • Prioritize activities to meet business, colleague, and customer needs.
  • Drive a culture of quality assurance and improvement in laboratory operations.
  • Ensure customer expectations are met through effective QMS implementation and communication.
  • Maintain and extend all accreditations as agreed with management.
  • Manage future Nadcap assessments and respond to findings as required.
  • Establish QA/QC programs to reduce costs of poor quality and improve compliance.
  • Provide effective training in the electronic quality management system (eQMS) and quality training for colleagues.
