About The Position

This job coordinates Quality Improvement activities of the laboratory department. Oversees compliance and inspection readiness for all laboratory accrediting agencies. Establishes, monitors and updates performance improvement programs. Reviews and investigates as appropriate, various departmental and organizational incident reports and initiates corrective action process. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5 years laboratory experience as a Medical Technologist.
• Current Louisiana license or temporary license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Specialist.
• Meets CLIA and CAP requirements for testing personnel relative to scope of duties.
• ASCP certification or equivalent as a Medical Technologist.
• Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals.
• Skills to work independently and efficiently under pressure.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with regulatory agency accreditation inspections.

Responsibilities

• Oversees performance improvement program.
• Coordinates the Pathology Performance Improvement Committee.
• Maintains inspection readiness/regulatory agency compliance.
• Coordinates proficiency testing program.
• Acts as pathology department representative/liaison.
• Reviews and investigates departmental and organizational incident reports.
• Initiates corrective action process.
