About The Position

Thank you for considering a career at Mercy Health! Scheduled Weekly Hours: 0.01 Work Shift: All Work Shifts (United States of America) We are looking to add PRN phlebotomists to our team here at St. Rita's Medical Center! Phlebs will work on a "as needed basis" Positions would require fulltime training (usually on days) for approx two weeks. Would also require 3 holidays a year, as well as every third weekend (12 hour shifts for the weekends) Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position The Lab Phlebotomist performs phlebotomy and other specimen collection. They use Lab Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) to conduct functions related to phlebotomy, order entry, result look-up and report generation and specimen receiving and preparation. They answer phones and forward appropriate problems to proper area. Responsibilities

  • Performs specimen collection procedures (nasal, oropharyngeal, venipuncture, etc.)
  • Enters orders
  • Performs accessioning, centrifuging, and aliquoting
  • Generates reports
  • Provides basic customer service
