About The Position

The Lab Outreach Customer Service Representative plays a crucial role in supporting the Lab Services team by managing orders, verifying results, and providing exceptional customer service to outpatients. This position is essential for ensuring efficient operations and maintaining a professional atmosphere in the lab environment.

Requirements

• Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare providers.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS).
• Previous experience in a customer service role within a medical environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage orders, results checking and verification from the reference lab.
• Greets and registers outpatients in a quick, courteous, and professional manner.
• Keeps work area in a neat and orderly manner, presenting a professional atmosphere.
• Accurately registers outreach specimens in a timely manner.
• Distributes and files all reference testing reports in a timely manner.
• Prepares laboratory correspondence including mailing/faxing test reports to providers, taking/preparing meeting minutes for approval, periodic LIS reports, etc.
• Ensures completed outreach specimens are received in LIS within 30 minutes.
• Prioritizes test orders per standards.
• Manages accounts receivable for the Lab including errors, denials, edits, validation, and daily reconciliation.
