Our programs support multiple Federal agencies, the Department of Defense and often focused on the space initiatives of our government customers. I2X Technologies is seeking a Lab Network Engineer to support ongoing activities for a customer in Colorado Springs, CO. This position will be on-site and will require an active Secret clearance.

  • Supporting network build out and deployments to the operational environment as necessary.
  • Work within an agile scrum team and plan work based on customer requirements and program contractual agreements.
  • Advanced degree and 3+ years experience or bachelor's with 5+ years experience or equivalent.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Proven network engineer with hands-on mid-level experience and knowledge of network design, development and testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with the TCP/IP Model, OSI Model, Multicast, Firewalls, Routing Protocols (BGP/OSPF).
  • Experience with capturing and deciphering packets (50% of testing efforts involve packet capture and analysis).
  • Knowledge of Network Address Translation (NAT), Network Timing, and ability to read technical network diagrams.
  • Specific experience with Juniper and/or Cisco networking equipment required.
  • Proven network traffic analysis, diagnostic and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience in UDP multicast, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network designs.
  • Understanding of standard DOD security practices such as STIG compliance and system accreditation implementation efforts.
  • Experience working with Firewalls and IPS/IDS.
  • Familiarization with virtualization.
  • Agile development and related test methodologies.
  • Automated testing framework, Python, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Manipulation of large data sets, spreadsheet analysis, and associated tools.
  • Development of action plans based upon analysis of data, documenting deficiency reports, and presenting analysis results and plans of action orally and/or in written format (e.g., slides, annotated slides, test report document).
  • Hands on experience WAN optimizer, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment.
  • A solid understanding of JUNOS preferred.
  • Previous experience with presentation skills using Microsoft PowerPoint and Visio drawing tools.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated network engineers as well as independently on large field projects.
  • Knowledge, skill sets or experience using protocol analyzers/sniffers (such as Wireshark).
  • Industry vendor certifications from Juniper (JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE) a must and from Cisco (CCNA, CCNP) a plus.
  • Previous experience in authentication & encryption methods/capabilities (TACACS+, Active Directory, GEM-X).
  • Virtualization technologies such as VMWare vCenter and vSphere.
