We specialize in wireless and wired network infrastructure, customer support, and lab services, enabling innovation and operational excellence across our global locations. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Lab Systems Engineer to join our team in Sunnyvale, CA. In this onsite role, you will be a key player in maintaining and enhancing our lab infrastructure. You will manage a variety of systems, from data storage and server farms to network security, while also leading special projects and providing exceptional support to our internal teams. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a strong technical foundation in Linux, networking, security and data center operations, coupled with a passion for continuous learning and problem-solving.

  • Lead and execute special projects aimed at improving lab infrastructure and services.
  • Provide comprehensive infrastructure support for multiple labs, including server farms (KVM, Oracle Linux, VMware) and data storage systems (SAN, iSCSI).
  • Manage and configure Palo Alto Firewalls to ensure network security.
  • Perform network support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues across routers, switches, and other network devices.
  • Purchase and Coordinate lab resources, maintain precise inventory control, and conduct routine system audits.
  • Physically rack, cable, and install new data center equipment.
  • Deliver outstanding customer support to internal engineering and development teams.
  • Maintain clear and consistent communication with team members and leadership regarding project status and operational issues.
  • Manage and resolve incoming support tickets efficiently within the team queue.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in a data center or lab environment.
  • 4+ years of experience with network security, specifically managing Palo Alto Firewalls.
  • Strong proficiency with Linux operating systems+scripting language python and Typescript.
  • Solid knowledge of server hardware, software, and hypervisors (e.g., KVM, VMware).
  • Familiarity with core networking concepts and equipment (routers, switches, access points).
  • Experience with traffic generators and testing equipment (e.g., Spirent).
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and a process-driven mindset.
  • Proven ability to work independently as a self-starter and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift and handle equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
