Certain roles at Tyson require background checks. If you are offered a position that requires a background check you will be provided additional documentation to complete once an offer has been extended. Responsibilities will vary from performing one procedure or work instruction to a number of analytical microbiological or quality system procedures or work instructions in a Food Safety Laboratory. Precision and accuracy in performance on at least 75 of the applicable work instructions and data collection is essential. Team members will be required to demonstrate proficiency and growth after training. Demonstrate proficiency on at least 3 consecutive sets of check samples performed at least annually on 75 or more of the applicable departmental work instructions. The individual will need to demonstrate proficiency using the LIMS system by successfully utilizing the log-in, batch action, and result entry screens. Ability to perform complex work instructions and or operate sophisticated equipment without close supervision; able to work independently and resolve routine problems; assist in the planning development method modification validation and evaluation of new or existing testing applications and test results; ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing; maintain ISO records for process control; will be expected to cross-train and be capable of substituting for absent team members in specific areas and comply with quality system and safety requirements; other duties as assigned. Team members will be responsible for presenting at least one departmental work seminar on a scientific or technical subject. Team members must have achieved all performance review goals and an acceptable overall ranking for the last 3 consecutive annual review periods.
