About The Position

The School of Arts and Sciences at Concordia University Irvine invites applications for a full-time staff member to serve as Lab Manager for the Natural Sciences. The individual should demonstrate excellence in working with faculty, staff, and students to support the safe, compliant, and effective operation of laboratory courses and facilities in biology, chemistry, physics, and related programs. Responsibilities include maintaining laboratory safety and OSHA compliance, overseeing chemical and biological stockrooms and waste disposal, managing budgets and purchasing, preparing laboratories for instruction, supporting student research activities, and supervising student workers. Concordia seeks an individual who values a Christian educational approach to higher learning and who will promote the mission, purpose, and objectives of the University, is committed to the Lutheran liberal arts tradition, and desires to engage with students, student workers, and faculty, both full-time and part-time- time. The position is a full-time staff appointment based on the Turtle Rock campus in Irvine and includes full rights and responsibilities of a full-time staff member. The Lab Manager is expected to oversee laboratory courses and facilities, maintain laboratory spaces and stockrooms in compliance with safety regulations, and work closely with faculty on laboratory preparation, purchasing, and resource planning. The Lab Manager will also participate in events related to the academic life of the University and fulfill expectations of full-time staff with respect to service to the institution, appropriate meetings, and budgetary relationships.
