About The Position

Join our team as a full-time, day shift, Laboratory Services Manager in Tyler, TX. UT Health Tyler is the flagship hospital of the system serving hundreds of thousands annually. Specializing in advanced acute care medicine, our midtown location boasts a Level 1 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center, the region’s only EMCO program and a Level III NICU. Our medical staff includes more than 500 physicians and a full complement of subspecialty groups. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or Physical Science OR Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician
  • Five (5) years of experience in the clinical laboratory as a Medical Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Laboratory Scientist or Medical Laboratory Technician
  • One (1) year in a management or supervisory role
  • Laboratory certification from an accredited laboratory certification program: CLS, MLS, MT, MLT or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year progressive leadership experience in the laboratory setting

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for overseeing the management of the laboratory, assuring accurate and timely test analysis, maintaining and properly utilizing all resources, establishing and implementing sectional goals and policies, promoting competency of staff and students through education, and ensuring appropriate and timely orientation for new employees.
  • Apply knowledge and skills, professional in daily performance of management activities.
  • Assist in the design, measurement, monitoring and implementation of programs to improve patient care within the medical center as measured by improved clinical outcome, improved efficiency of resource use and improved patient and physician satisfaction.
  • Responsible for working directly with the supervisor in planning, directing, and managing aspects of laboratory services and laboratory outreach departments in accordance with the hospital, Ardent Health Services, regulatory agencies.
  • Other responsibilities include but are not limited to; business development of the outreach laboratory function including product definition, product development, pricing, profitability, revenue growth, client and employee satisfaction.
