Requirements Job Overview The Lab Manager/Research Assistant 2 in the Psychology Department of Georgetown University will be involved in recruiting and testing participants for a grant funded study looking at learning in monolingual and bilingual young children. They will also be trained to work on the collaborative PLAY study.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a BA/BS degree from a 4-year college.

Nice To Haves

  • Due to the DC metropolitan area’s growing Spanish speaking population and the fact that data are collected in the home and that the study examines differences between monolingual and bilingual children, Spanish speaking skills preferred.
  • Observational coding experience using datayvu software and excel preferred.
  • Current driver’s license preferred.
  • Prior research experience working directly with young children is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Running eyetracking and memory flexibility studies and collecting data in the field
  • Coding and collating the dataset, including coding using the R program language for data cleaning and analysis
  • Organize lab meetings and coordinate training and schedules for our undergraduate research team
  • Submitting expense reports related to conferences and inventory management in the lab
