About The Position

Position overview: The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Boise State University invites applications for a full-time Laboratory Instructor Position. The successful candidate will play a vital role in advancing the department’s instructional mission by teaching a combination of general, organic, or analytical chemistry laboratories. As well as spending five hours per week in the Chemistry Instructional Center (CIC), a drop in tutoring center that supports all service chemistry courses. This position instructs four laboratory sections per semester and is required to attend presemester and weekly preparation meetings. Department overview: The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry offers a Bachelor’s and Master of Science degrees in Chemistry. Our faculty members conduct research in areas such as drug discovery, medicinal chemistry & medical devices, cosmochemistry, prebiotic chemistry, archaeological science, computational chemistry, enzymology and enzyme mechanisms, RNA and protein chemistry, and polymer chemistry. Our faculty members participate and mentor Ph.D. graduate students in transdisciplinary programs including Materials Science and Engineering, Biomolecular Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, Computing, and Systems Engineering (planned). Nice To Haves

  • M.S. or PhD in Chemistry or commensurate teaching experience
  • College teaching experience in general, organic, and/or analytical chemistry
  • College Chemistry GPA of greater than 3.2 on a 4.0 scale

Benefits

  • Salary is $35,672.00
  • Our standard faculty contract is a 9-month contract (unless otherwise noted) with pay and benefits spread over 12 months.
