Morton Industries is hiring for a 2nd shift Lab Inspector! Morton also pays a 15% shift premium! Summary: Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products by performing the following duties. Prepare dimensional documentation according to customer requirements for new product.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • High level of proficiency using spreadsheet applications such as Excel, including the use of pivot

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection using a PCMM or CMM to determine dimensional conformance of product.
  • Perform inspection using variable and attribute gaging to determine dimensional conformance of product.
  • Evaluate products at specified stages in the production process for qualities such as cleanliness, paint quality, and appearance
  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.
  • Records data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Provides guidance to production personnel and supervision on conformance of product to customer prints and specifications.
