Job Responsibilities The Laboratory Equipment Specialist I is responsible for laboratory support functions broadly or within a particular area of specialty or concentration (e.g. Robotics) and other duties as assigned. The Laboratory Equipment Specialist I supports the laboratory and once demonstrating competence can perform and document any required actions independently and reliably. The Laboratory Equipment Specialist I will perform daily tasks and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or active student.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude and willingness to follow instructions.
  • Reliability and punctuality for critical tasks are necessary.
  • Experience in regulated environment is required.
  • English level: Required bilingualism includes understanding simple messages and following basic instructions

Responsibilities

  • Assist/Perform routine scheduled maintenance and calibration.
  • Troubleshoot and rectify analytical system hardware and configuration issues.
  • Perform routine housekeeping duties and support of minor facility items.
  • Operate robotic equipment supporting routine sample analysis.
  • Support sample management.
  • Collate and submit usage logs, maintenance logs and similar documents for archive.
  • Prepare reagents.
  • Maintain glassware and associated lab materials to ensure cleanliness and sufficient supply.
  • Package and store waste (Regulated Medical and RCRA hazardous) for transport.
  • Assist with labelling and packaging
  • Perform shipping receiving tasks
  • Perform receptionist duties
