About The Position

Amazon Leo is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity. This role is for a highly dynamic and motivated individual that will support the Mechanisms and Mixed Model Assembly production and engineering teams. We are looking for an individual who works well with engineering teams under minimal oversight to take ground support equipment from concept to production. This will be a production oriented position so expect the work to be fast paced and exciting. About the team This team is organized within the Mechanisms, Mixed Model Assembly, and Space Simulation Lab team to accelerate the design iteration process and ensure on-time delivery of the most stable and successful product possible. The tasks and daily focus change rapidly, and you will often take on new and exciting responsibilities as required to ensure project success. Expect to be deployed to complex problems that are driving the design and quickly drive success through build and test support.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of tools and measurement devices (oscilloscope, frequency analyzer, or equivalent)
  • 1+ years of experience of equipment maintenance
  • 1+ years of experience in CAD
  • Basic wire harness fabrication and troubleshooting
  • 1+ years of experience building ground support equipment
  • Basic test troubleshooting experience
  • Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Nice To Haves

  • BS degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics engineering or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

  • Mechanical and electrical assembly of various spacecraft ground support equipment
  • Build and execute various development tests
  • Work closely with engineering teams to optimize manufacturability and to develop custom equipment
  • Maintain, operate, and identify production equipment
