About The Position

Sign on Bonus Available!!! $10,000 greater than 1yr of experience $5,000 less than 1yr of experience $2,500 Relocation Bonus available (greater than 50 miles) (external candidates only) The Cytologist participates in specialized and complex technical tasks involved in the processing and screening of cytologic specimens to detect evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions, ensuring the efficient and accurate testing of patient specimens. Participate in specialized and complex technical tasks involved in screening slides of clinical specimens, both gynecologic and non-gynecologic, for evidence of cancer or other pathological conditions according to departmental terminoloy and protocols including marking abnormalities, rendering diagnoses and determining cases for quality control or subsequent review with pathologist; performs various Quality Control and Quality Assurance procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations and protocols; perform rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) using tele-pathology system in the collection, processing and immediate evaluation of Fine Needle Aspirations.

Requirements

  • Certifications: Cytologist (CT) within 1 year - American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree: Science and Certificate of Completion: Cytotechnology

Responsibilities
