About The Position

The Lab Courier transports and delivers medical specimens, documents, packages and supplies timely and effectively. This position requires flexibility, reliability, organization and a good knowledge of the geographical area.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess a valid United States driver’s license (probationary not acceptable) and an acceptable driving safety record.
• Must have valid and current Driver’s license to operate a company or personal vehicle, with current auto insurance while on company hours.
• Must be able to successfully meet driver safety standards.
• Must be reliable and able to work flexible schedules in a 24-hour environment.
• Must have basic understanding of computers.
• Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and the public.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.
• Ability to use time productively and contribute to high levels of company operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to sit for large portions of a workday.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to reach above, below and at shoulder level.

Responsibilities

• Deliver medical specimens, documents, packages, supplies, and other items to destinations in a timely and effective manner.
• Load vehicles with items being delivered, ensuring items are loaded correctly and taking precautions with hazardous goods.
• Unload and sort items collected along delivery routes.
• Receive messages or materials to be delivered, and information on recipients, such as names, addresses, telephone numbers, and delivery instructions, communicated via telephone, two-way radio, or in person.
• Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivering goods.
• Adherence to compliance and completion of compliance training.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
