Job Summary: Transport specimens, reports, lab supplies and other materials between various locations, labs, and physician offices. Demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with all patients, families, visitors and other employees regardless of cultural background. Job Description: 3rd shift from 9p-7:30 am. There is a Every Third weekend rotation and once-a-year rotation. Picks up and delivers specimens and reports various locations and physician offices for the timely completion of tests. Maintains accurate specimen logs to insure complete and thorough tracking of all specimens. Maintains accurate route logs in order to provide accountability for the use of resources of the Medical Center. Delivers supplies to physician offices for proper test collection. Maintains lab cars by performing routine safety checks and insures proper appearance and condition of cars. Adheres to proper conditions for the transportation of specimens so as to maintain the quality of the specimen. Performs all other duties as assigned to facilitate the efficient and cost effective operation of the lab Attends in-services and continuing education seminars to enhance personal and professional growth. Implements ICARE principles using communication skills and productive working environment. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Own transportation in case of emergency.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be insurable by Medical Center Carrier.
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
