About The Position

The Lab Coordinator at St. Joseph's Medical Center plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the laboratory office. Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Valid CA Drivers License with a clean driving record.
• Excellent phone and customer service skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
• Initiative in performing duties and intermediate computer skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Nice To Haves

• Clinical billing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure an efficient and organized office for the laboratory under general supervision and medical direction.
• Perform data and order entry functions related to laboratory support.
• Handle specimen management, including telephone and verbal communication, filing, sorting, and distribution.
• Assist in filling supply orders and ensure effective routing and completion of specimens and reports.
• Utilize pneumatic tube systems for batching, receiving, and distributing specimens.
• Dispatch resources and staff as required to nursing floors and clients.
• Perform courier duties on an as-needed basis and other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
