About The Position

Start your career in clinical laboratory services as a Lab Assistant for Pathology Services in North Platte. This entry-level role is ideal for science-oriented individuals who are motivated, detail-driven, and eager to build hands-on experience in a fast-paced clinical laboratory environment while supporting essential diagnostic services. Schedule Full-time | Monday – Friday | 11:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Includes one-hour unpaid lunch) Pay Starting at $18 per hour, based on education and experience

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly dependable with consistent and reliable attendance
  • Motivated, quick learner with interest in clinical laboratory work
  • Ability to stand and move throughout the laboratory for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity to handle specimens, lab tools, and computer equipment
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Visual and auditory ability to read labels, identify specimens, and communicate clearly
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and reach to access laboratory equipment and supplies

Nice To Haves

  • Laboratory, phlebotomy, or healthcare experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Support Lab Operations
  • Assist clinical lab and technical staff with pre-analytical laboratory processes
  • Support daily laboratory workflows to ensure timely and accurate testing
  • Phlebotomy & Specimen Handling
  • Perform phlebotomy procedures
  • Receive, label, and properly handle specimens
  • Prepare and manage laboratory send-out specimens
  • Administrative & Computer Tasks
  • Perform order entry and clerical/computer-based duties
  • Maintain accurate documentation to support laboratory operations
  • Quality & Accuracy
  • Follow established laboratory procedures to ensure specimen integrity and accurate results
  • Maintain attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Adapt and Grow
  • Learn new laboratory processes and systems
  • Take on additional responsibilities as skills and knowledge develop
