Regulations drive the need for our services, but our unique capabilities allow us to add value to clients beyond environmental compliance. A Laboratory Technician Assistant is responsible for performing tasks required to support laboratory functions and generate data. The ideal candidate will have basic biology and chemistry knowledge and an eagerness to learn new laboratory skills. They will be trained to maintain safety conditions and will be passionate for doing work that helps things move forward.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Basic laboratory techniques (knowledge of PPE, use of balance, pipetting, glassware handling, etc)
  • Basic Excel skills required
  • Must have ability to follow directions and work in a team setting
  • Must be comfortable working with strong acids and solvents
  • Excellent communication skills required
  • Detail oriented
  • Prior Laboratory experience preferred but not required as this is an entry level position
  • Knowledge of analytical method, analytical instruments, general lab practices and lab safety
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Good organizational skills and strong communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Sample extractions
  • Preparation of reagents for lab use and/or shipment
  • Agar plate making
  • Cleaning laboratory glassware and laboratory areas
  • Maintaining organized records of sample preparation and analysis
  • Basic pH and osmolarity testing of samples and solutions
  • Overhead projects designed to improve efficiency or accuracy of analyses
  • Assisting the Group Leaders and analysts in acquiring and inventorying consumables, chemicals, and parts for instrumentation
  • Comply with Enthalpy’s Quality Assurance Program and other policies
  • Comply with Enthalpy’s Health and Safety Plan
  • Other duties as assigned by Group Leaders or the Technical Director
