Lab Assistant, PRN
About The Position
Piedmont Rockdale is a 161-bed, acute care, not-for-profit community hospital in Conyers that has provided compassionate, patient-centered care to Rockdale County and surrounding communities since 1954. The Lab Assistant performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory standards. This role also involves performing venipunctures and obtaining/preparing blood specimens according to Piedmont policies and procedures, as well as assisting technical staff with non-clinical tasks.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- No experience required
Nice To Haves
- 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist
- Experience in performing EKGs
- Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting
- CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency
Responsibilities
- Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable.
- Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures.
- Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.
