About The Position

The laboratory assistant is responsible for collection of various sample types. Performing phlebotomy is primary mode of collection. Staff also provide collection instructions to patients for urinalysis, stool, and other sample types. Staff also assist with cardiac procedures including but not limited to EKGs, Holter, and Event Monitor placement. At the core of what they do, laboratory assistants must exhibit a high level of trust in their abilities to put the patient at ease and provide a safe, warm, and pleasant experience for our patients.   Work Schedule: 24 hrs weekly / .6 FTE Weekdays.  Also includes a 4 hour shift every 5th Saturday and approximately one weeknight each week to 8 PM - urgent care coverage.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years of experience performing phlebotomy
  • Experience with pediatric and oncology patients.
  • Experience with Laboratory Information Systems.
  • Excellent customer service skills required
  • Licensure or Certificate from an Accredited program of Phlebotomy
