About The Position

Collects and processes specimens for stat and routine testing/analysis or transport to external laboratory.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1+ year(s) of phlebotomy experience preferred
  • Strong commitment to collaboration and teamwork
  • Hands-on experience or completion of a recognized phlebotomy program preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collects basic blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques
  • Orders, receives, accessions, and tracks specimens in the department's information system(s)
  • Verifies accuracy of collected specimens against orders and performs waived testing, as required
  • Prepares specimens for testing or shipment to internal/external laboratory
  • Disposes of specimens according to policies and procedures
  • Performs clerical duties including maintaining supplies and equipment
