Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 2+ years' experience in medical practice or similar setting
• Punctual and Dependable

Responsibilities

• Accessions patient specimens.
• Enters patient demographics, clinical history, specimen biopsy information into the laboratory information system; prints and attaches to the original requisition in preparation of case for the Pathologist.
• Be able to assist putting together cases for distribution to Pathology.
• Prints out slides and cassettes for patient specimens.
• Work with practices to resolve any discrepancies.
• Answers phones and respond to inquiries and requests from practices.
• Files slides, blocks, requisitions, pathology reports, business documents, etc.
• Assist with unpacking supplies - placing them in the proper storage location and dating the appropriate items.
