We’re here to better our world with biology. Join us as our new Laboratory Assistant/Technician in Quality Control! We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant/Technician to join our Quality Control (QC) team in Franklinton, NC. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for maintaining consumable inventory, performing media preparation to enable laboratory operations, and perform microbial QC testing. You will leverage your organizational & technical skillset to perform your primary responsibilities of media preparation, glassware washing, and QC testing. You will have the opportunity to work within the department to improve efficiency in lab operations. In this role you’ll make an impact by: Supporting the daily lab operations by making media, preparing glassware, and autoclaving Performing QC testing (microbiology plate-based methods & qPCR). Upholding the audit readiness status of the calibration program in the lab by performing calibrations and weekly maintenance of equipment Demonstrating initiative in taking on responsibilities that contribute to the Quality, Safety and Environmental policies at the site Organizing the lab to improve process workflows

  • Supporting the daily lab operations by making media, preparing glassware, and autoclaving
  • Performing QC testing (microbiology plate-based methods & qPCR).
  • Upholding the audit readiness status of the calibration program in the lab by performing calibrations and weekly maintenance of equipment
  • Demonstrating initiative in taking on responsibilities that contribute to the Quality, Safety and Environmental policies at the site
  • Organizing the lab to improve process workflows
  • Associate of Science degree and/or college-level course in related Science OR High School Diploma with work experience in an industrial laboratory
  • A basic understanding of microbiology and production processes with a strong focus on customer service
  • The ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a dynamic and collaborative environment to achieve results together as a team.
  • Physically be able to lift ≤ 50 lbs
  • Be able to work flexible hours & holidays. First 3 months schedule for training would be Monday – Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday (7:00am-3:30pm). After training has been completed, the regular schedule for this position would be Monday – Wednesday (1:00pm – 9:30pm) and Saturday & Sunday (7:00am-3:30pm).
