About The Position

As a laboratory assistant you will be a member of a diverse, agile team responsible for biological specimen receipt, identification verification, processing and storage. In addition, you will perform a variety of clerical, processing, and other laboratory duties that include maintaining supply inventory, filing, stocking, receiving shipments, and cleaning. You will actively partner with team members by fostering an inclusive work environment and respecting others with different backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. This position is located at the Superior Drive Support Center where immediate parking is available.

Requirements

• Preferred experience in a laboratory setting
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs
• Ability to push/pull greater than 75 lbs
• Full use of both hands
• Ability to color-identify and distinguish
• Ability to verbally communicate effectively

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a clinical laboratory environment
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify biological specimens
• Process and store biological specimens
• Maintain supply inventory
• File and stock laboratory supplies
• Receive shipments and clean laboratory areas
• Lift/carry up to 50 lbs
• Push/pull greater than 75 lbs
• Perform repetitive motion with hands/wrists
• Grasp and pinch objects as needed
• Communicate verbally with team members
• Identify and distinguish colors accurately
