The Lab Assistant - Sound Lab position at DigiPen USA LLC involves supporting live sound events on campus and maintaining sound labs and recording studios. This entry-level role is designed for currently matriculated students who are looking to gain experience in audio engineering and live sound reinforcement while balancing their academic commitments.

  • Helping with setup and execution of live sound events on DigiPen campus and occasionally outside events.
  • Cleaning, maintaining, securing, and organizing music classrooms, sound labs, and recording studios.
  • Assisting music class professors as needed.
  • Overseeing sound lab equipment checkout requests.
  • Troubleshooting issues with sound lab and studio hardware and software.
  • Audio engineering experience with a desire to learn new skills and technologies.
  • Strong listening skills and musical ears.
  • Live sound reinforcement and sound mixing experience is a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Experience maintaining hardware and software for both Mac and PC computers.
  • Experience maintaining computer music workstations including audio and MIDI peripherals.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations.
  • Ability to lift more than 40 pounds.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends.
  • Experience in live sound reinforcement and sound mixing.
  • Flexible work hours to accommodate class schedules.
  • Opportunity to gain hands-on experience in audio engineering and live sound events.
