About The Position

Collects venous and capillary blood from inpatients and outpatients on site and off site. Processes specimens to be sent to reference labs. Cleans and stocks pick-up carts and trays. Orders lab tests in the computer. Receives laboratory specimens. Registers patients and all that is necessary with this job to help with patient care.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• BLS

• Paramedical training preferred.

• Demonstrates specific specimen collection skills as listed and in accordance with the laboratory assistant manual.
• Demonstrates specific specimen processing skills as listed and in accordance with the laboratory assistant manual.
• Demonstrates specific laboratory outpatient skills as listed and in accordance with the laboratory assistant manual.
• Represents the department in a professional manner.
