About The Position

Find your purpose at CentraCare as a Lab Assistant / Phlebotomist! This position is great for someone entering the healthcare industry and/or laboratory profession. We provide on-the-job phlebotomy skills training for this role. Current students and individuals with minimal experience are encouraged to apply. Our Lab Assistant is a great second step within the laboratory setting. Lab Assistants will have demonstratable knowledge of basic chemistry tests, hematology, urinalysis and have basic venipuncture and capillary collection skills. Lab Assistants may perform low complexity testing, culture set-up, diagnostic coding, patient registration. You will play a crucial role in patient care by collecting blood and other biologic samples from patients. You will assist in creating an atmosphere of trust and confidence, ensuring patients feel comfortable and secure during the process.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prefer graduate from or in the process of pursuing a degree from an accredited laboratory or medicine-related program
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

• Starting pay begins at $17.58 per hour and increases with experience
• Pay range: $15.96 - $24.56 per hour
