About The Position

The position involves greeting patients and handling telephone calls. The individual will enter and update orders into the computer system and perform phlebotomy duties while maintaining positive identification of specimens throughout processing. Prioritizing tasks is essential, with STAT requests given the highest priority. The role requires an understanding of the principles of growth and development to provide age-specific treatment and care. Additionally, the individual will maintain supplies, perform inventory, date reagents and other supplies, and remove outdated items. Recognizing situations or results that need to be discussed with a Technologist is also part of the job. The position includes distributing computer-generated reports and may involve other roles and responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalency.
• Formal phlebotomy training and/or demonstrated skills preferred.
• Demonstrated computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Routine lifting requirements up to 50 pounds.
